In their season-opening win over Lawrence, freshman Adia Douglas (Flossmoor, Ill. - Homewood-Flossmoor) got the Titans on the board with a 6-0, 6-1 win at five singles. Fellow freshman
Elana Religioso (Mahomet, Ill. - Mahomet) followed with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at the sixth singles spot. Junior
Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) put the Green and White one win away with a 4-6, 6-2, 10-4 win at No. 4 singles. Sophomore
Gabi Lipske (Gurnee, Ill. - Mundelein) sealed the deal with a 6-3, 1-6, 10-8 win on the second singles flight.
The Titans and Lady Blues most recently met in 2024, with the Green and White winning 5-2. IWU claimed the doubles point behind victories from the then-sophomore pair of
Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) and Bell at one doubles. Senior
Kate Christian (Washington, Ill.-Washington Community) and then-freshman Lipske collected the win at No. 2 doubles, 6-2. Ehrlich, Bell, Lipske and Christian all followed with singles victories.
The Lady Blues dropped their season-opener 4-3 to Wartburg. They've since split their last four contests, taking down Webster 7-0 and defeating Millikin 6-1 before falling to Greenville 4-3 and sweeping Westminster, 7-0.
