BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team defeated Lawrence University, 4-3, on Thursday, Sept. 4. The Titans improve to 1-0 on the season, while the Vikings slide to 0-2. 

After dropping the doubles point, freshman Adia Douglas (Flossmoor, Ill. - Homewood-Flossmoor) got the Titans on the board with a 6-0, 6-1 win at five singles. Fellow freshman Elana Religioso (Mahomet, Ill. - Mahomet) followed with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at the sixth singles spot. Junior Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) put the Green and White one win away with a 4-6, 6-2, 10-4 win at No. 4 singles. Sophomore Gabi Lipske (Gurnee, Ill. - Mundelein) sealed the deal with a 6-3, 1-6, 10-8 win on the second singles flight.   

The TItans remain at home on Monday, Sept. 8 as they host Illinois College. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
