Smyth Voted CCIW’s Offensive Player of the Week

Second weekly honor of his career, first for IWU this season

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University junior quarterback Dermot Smyth (Chicago, Ill.-Marist) earned College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week honors Monday, Sept. 29, for the second time in his career. Smyth led IWU to a 34-10 road victory at Carthage College, Sept. 27, as the Titans ran their record to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.

Smyth, who previously earned the award Sept. 23, 2024, compiled 322 yards of offense in the Green and White's win in Kenosha, Wis. Smyth completed 14-of-28 passes for 229 yards and two touchdown passes. The Chicago native added 93 rushing yards and a 35-yard TD scamper, while tying for the game-high in yards on the ground.

Smyth and the Titans travel to St. Louis, Mo. Saturday, Oct. 4, for a 6 p.m. kickoff at WashU.
