EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The fourth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team claimed the Wrigglesworth Invitational team title at the par-71, 6,855-yard Eau Claire Country Club Monday, Sept. 15. The Titans shot a 288 in the final round, the best round of the day, to win the tournament by five strokes over the IWU 'B' team (293).

The Titans 'A' and 'B' squads went 1-2 at the top of the team leaderboard with 36-hole totals of 585 (297-288) and 593 (300-293), respectively. Saint John's (Minn.), who shot a 596 total, took third. UW-Stout (598) and UW-Eau Claire (600) completed the top-five. Gavin Grahek of Saint John's (Minn.) snagged medalist honors by one stroke, finishing one-under at 141.

Senior Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West), playing on the Titans 'B' squad, was the top Titan's finisher. Healy battled for the lead over the final 18, ultimately placing runner-up after a one-over 72 saw him finish the tournament even (142).

Fellow seniors Myles Lahart (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) and Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central) also finished in the top-five, sharing fifth-place at four-over for the tournament. Freshman Jared Code (Calgary, Albert, Canada-Ernest Manning) finished in seventh at five-over. Sophomore Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) claimed a share of 10th place after his final round of 70, the only player to shoot under par in the field in the final round. 

The Titans are back in action at the NCAA Division III Preview at Mission Inn Resort + Spa in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The tournament is set for Sunday-Tuesday, Sept. 21-23.
