Men’s Golf in Lead After Round One of Wrigglesworth Invitational

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The fourth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team sits atop the leaderboard after round one at the Wrigglesworth Invitational, Sunday, Sept. 14, hosted at the par-71, 6,855-yard Eau Claire Country Club. After a round one score of 297, the Titans are just one stroke in front of both Saint John's (Minn.) and UW-Eau Claire.

Senior Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West), playing on the Titans 'B' squad, finds himself in third-place on the individual leaderboard, after his opening round of one-under 70. Fellow senior Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central) is not far behind, tied for seventh-place, after shooting a one-over 72.

There are only four shots that separate the top-six teams, as Saint John's (Minn.) and UW-Eau Claire sit one shot behind the leading Illinois Wesleyan 'A' team. The Illinois Wesleyan 'B' team and UW-Stout each shot an opening round 300, while UW-Superior is in sixth after their opening round of 301.

The Titans are back in action for the final round tomorrow, Sept. 15, at Eau Claire Country Club. A shotgun start is set for 8:30 a.m.
