BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team fell to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe North Central College, 6-1, Wednesday, Sept. 10. The Titans fall to 2-1 (0-1) on the season, while the Cardinals improve to 5-0 (1-0).

In doubles action, North Central won all three matches to claim the point. At the top doubles spot, juniors Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill. - Glenwood) and Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) fell to Abigail Penados and Kensington Payne, 6-2. At No. 2 doubles, the sophomore duo of Katie Van Heuklon (Normal, Ill. - Normal West) and Gabi Lipske (Gurnee, Ill. - Mundelein) dropped a tiebreaker to Liveta Ezerskis and Kate Herlihy, 7-6 (2). Freshmen tandem, Adia Douglas (Flossmoor, Ill. - Homewood-Flossmoor) and Elana Religioso (Mahomet, Ill. - Mahomet) lost 7-6 (6) at the three doubles spot. 

In singles play, the Cardinals racked up victories at the first, second and third spots to take a 4-0 lead and clinch the match. After North Central took a 5-0 advantage with a win at No. 4 singles, Religioso rattled off the first win for IWU at the sixth-singles spot, a 7-5, 5-2 win over Alexa Zaskowski. 

The Green and White hit the road for the first time in 2025 this Saturday, Sept. 13 as it continues CCIW play at Augustana. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
