Kuhn, Khoury, & McDoniel Earn Softball Team Awards

A total of 20 Titans garnered letters

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Coming off its best season since 2019, the Illinois Wesleyan University softball team closed out the year with the release of its team awards Wednesday, July 2. Seniors Jen Kuhn (Normal, Ill.-University High) and Ava Khoury (Columbia, Ill.-Columbia) as well as freshman Riley McDoniel (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) captured team honors, while a total of 20 Titans were awarded letters.

Kuhn was voted the team's Most Valuable Player after closing out one of the best campaigns in program history. The Normal, Ill native was named a First Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, a Rawlings Gold Glove recipient, the College Sports Communicators Division III Softball Academic All-America of the Year, NFCA First Team All-Region, the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Year, and a First Team All-CCIW selection. Kuhn's award-laden season saw the shortstop hit a team-best and career-high .449 with 70 hits, 17 doubles, and 57 RBIs - all of which led the team. She scored 38 runs and swiped 11 bases, while boasting a slugging percentage of .712 and an on-base clip of .473. Kuhn graduates as the program's career doubles leader and sits tied atop the all-time hits list.

Khoury, the Gwen Meyer Award recipient, finished out a tremendous career in 2025. The program's career home run record holder, Khoury hit .375 on the year with a team-best nine homers. She was voted First Team All-CCIW and also reeled in CSC Third Team Academic All-America status, while earning NFCA Division III National Hitter of the Week following a tremendous league tournament performance.

In her rookie season, McDoniel played in 23 games for the Green and White, making two starts. She hit .357 with five hits in 14 at bats and scored nine runs en route to being tabbed the team's Most Improved Player.

Illinois Wesleyan compiled a 37-9 overall record in 2025, breaking the program's longest win streak record with 25 straight victories. The Green and White won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin regular season and tournament championships, while winning a regional in the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament for the first time since 2019.
