NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Â For the second time in program history, a member of the Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team earned All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors. Freshman
Gavin Rohlwing (Tower Lake, Ill.-Barrington) earned Second Team All-CCIW status after a stellar first collegiate season, the league office announced Tuesday, April 8.Â
Rohlwing becomes just the second Titan to earn the honor, joining now-assistant coach Mike Eastman. Eastman was a Second Team All-CCIW selection a season ago, capping off his career donning the Green and White. Senior
Jake Kougan (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) was IWU's recipient of the CCIW RESPECT Award.Â
Appearing in 21 sets over four CCIW matches, Rohlwing led the CCIW in blocks per set with an average of 1.10. He recorded 23 blocks composed of six solo stuffs and 17 assisted. Rohlwing also hit an efficient .295 in conference play, racking up 43 kills for an average of 2.05 per set. The Tower Lake, Ill. native also notched two aces, seven digs, and totaled 59.5 points, averaging 2.83 per set.Â
Rohlwing was named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week three times this season, the most by a Titan, as he earned the honor Feb. 3, Feb. 10, and March 3. Raking in other awards, Rohlwing was also cited on the Inside Volleyball Hitter 10 Freshman to Watch list, which was released at the beginning of the season, Jan. 10.Â
Finishing with a total of 81 blocks, Rohlwing set the program's new single-season record. The previous record of 51 rejections, which Rohlwing broke 13 games into the season.Â
Illinois Wesleyan concludes its best season in program history with a 12-12 overall record, and finished tied for fourth in the CCIW standings with a 2-8 mark. Head Coach Brandon Mueller returns 15 members of the 2025 squad next season.
