BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team is looking to bounce back during its spring break trip to Colorado Springs, Colo. after seeing its six-game win streak snapped Wednesday night. The Titans are set to face Ursinus College Friday, March 14 at noon MT at Washburn Field.

Illinois Wesleyan fell 19-11 against the week's host, Colorado College, Wednesday night, March 12 moving the Green and White to a 6-1 record on the season. Sophomore Timothy McHugh (Orland Park, Ill.-Mount Carmel) led the way with three points all by way of goals while fifth-year Gage Black (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap) had a trio of points off two goals and an assist. Senior faceoff specialist Nick Schroeder (Waunakee, Ill.-Waunakee) led the Titans with six ground balls while going 15-for-26 at the X. Senior Nick Horrocks (Boulder, Colo.-Fairview) held the team-lead with two caused turnovers while senior goalie Colin Tervo (West Linn, Ore.-West Linn) totaled 15 saves.

Leading the Green and White in points this season has been McHugh with 29. The sophomore attackman has been the IWU's primary distributor with 21 assists while putting away eight of his own goals through seven games. Fifth-year Ike Eastburn (Colorado Springs, Colo.-Cheyenne Mountain) leads the Titans in goals with 21 while Black is just behind with 20 goals and five assists, totaling 25 points on the season and the second-most on the team.

Schroeder has been IWU's primary faceoff, winning 92 bouts and is good for a .676 faceoff win percentage. Schroeder also leads the team in ground balls with 40 scoops. Senior Sam Skelton (Portland, Ore.-Franklin) continues to anchor the Titan defense with a team-leading 14 caused turnovers on the year in addition to 23 ground balls.

Tervo has spent all but one game this season in goal, recording 71 saves and holds a .538 save percentage with a 5-1 record. Freshman Jaymeson Zackery (Saint Paul, Minn.-Eastview) has appeared in two games and started one. In those two appearances, Zackery totaled 13 saves and has a .565 save percentage.

IWU looks to bounce-back from its first loss of the season when it faces Ursinus on Friday. The only time the Titans squared off with the Bears was back on March 7, 2020 when then-eighth-ranked Ursinus defeated IWU 20-8 just days before the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the rest of the 2020 season.

The Green and White's game Friday afternoon is slated for a noon start at Washburn Field. The contest will be available via live stats and live stream. Access to both live stats and live stream can be found here or on the men's lacrosse schedule page of iwusports.com.
