Women’s Tennis Hosts Cornell for 2025 Debut

Titans open spring portion of season against Rams

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team will make its 2025 debut Sunday, March 2, as the Titans (6-6) host Cornell College for a spring contest. IWU will take the courts for the first time since Oct. 12, 2024. Action is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. at Evergreen Racquet Club.

Illinois Wesleyan looks to get back in the win column after completing the rigorous College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin schedule, most recently falling to North Central College, 7-0. IWU's two CCIW wins are the most since the 2021-22 season, as the Titans defeated Millikin University and Elmhurst University this fall. Sophomore Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) earned Second Team All-CCIW honors for the second-straight season. Commanding the No. 1 singles spot, along with being a part of the top doubles pair, Ehrlich collected a total of five wins in CCIW action. In individual play, Ehrlich picked up wins over North Park's Hanna Zethraeus, Emily Markus of Millikin, and Elmhurst's Anna Sophia Stone. She finished with a record of 3-4 in singles play.

IWU will meet Cornell on the courts for just the third time, and the first since 2019. The Rams are the winners of the two previous contests, taking the most recent, 7-2, March 3, 2019.
