NACDA Release

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) released the fall Learfield Directors Cup rankings Monday, Dec. 29. Illinois Wesleyan University appears 56th in the national rankings, the second-highest placement in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. The Learfield Directors' Cup counted men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's water polo, and football with the exception of the National Championship results, which will be updated Thursday, Jan. 22.

Reeling in a total of 89 points, the Titans garnered points from women's volleyball and men's soccer. Women's volleyball contributed 64 points after tying for ninth place in the NCAA Tournament following IWU's second straight appearance in the regional championship. The Green and White also saw 25 points via men's soccer. Illinois Wesleyan made its second-ever postseason appearance this past fall in a season that also included a program record 13 wins.

Tufts leads Division III with 485.00 points following national titles in field hockey and men's soccer. Johns Hopkins is second with 454.5 points, followed by WashU (359.5), Williams (343.5), and Trinity (Texas) (334).

The CCIW has three institutions ranked in the release. North Central is the highest ranked institution in the league at 43rd (117.5) ahead of the Division III National Championship football game. Following NCC and IWU, Wheaton ranks tied for 80th (73).
