BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The No. 2 ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team will host its first ever College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championship Saturday, Nov. 8 as it welcomes fourth-seeded North Park University. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Neis Field.

IWU brings its 12-2-4 record and 6-2-1 mark at home into the contest, already owning a victory over North Park this season on the pitch of Neis Field.

With its 4-1 win over North Central College in the CCIW Semifinals Wednesday, Nov. 5, the Green and White secured its program record-tying 12th win this season, matching the 12 wins from the 1995 club. IWU jumped ahead late in the first period on a senior Logan Tierney (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) score. North Central answered with one of its own to open the second period, but the Titans responded with three unanswered goals in 19 minutes to cap off the dominant win. The four goals scored by the Titans are the most by the program in a postseason match.

Junior Matthew Perchik (Glenview, Ill.- New Trier) knocked in the game-winning goal against NCC to snag his fifth score of the year to sit in third place on the squad in points with 14. Just ahead of him is sophomore Ben Lyons (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) with six goals and 16 points. First Team All-CCIW member, junior Ryder Coleman (Bannockburn, Ill.-Deerfield), sits atop the points list with 18 on six goals and six assists.

The veteran presence of senior goalkeeper Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary-Grove) proved helpful in the semifinals, as he started in his sixth postseason match. Kedzior saved seven shots against the Cardinals which extended his season total to 79.

The preseason CCIW favorite North Park Vikings enter with a 10-6-2 record including postseason wins over Carroll University and top-ranked Wheaton College in the semifinal match. Sophomore Bastian Eikeland leads the Viking attack with 12 points on six assists, including the game-winner in the semifinal.

NPU has dominated the season series, owning a 29-10-3 series lead, including a 12 game win-streak over the 2010s. Illinois Wesleyan and North Park last faced off Saturday, Oct. 11 in a 2-1 barnburner in favor of IWU at Neis Field. The Titans used a goal from Perchik and the game-winner from junior Faheem Mujahid (Saint Robert Mo.-Waynesville) to win the homecoming showdown.

The CCIW championship will kick off at 12 p.m., with the winner receiving the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The match can be followed via live stats here, as well as a live stream here
