Women’s Tennis Takes on Wheaton and North Park

IWU concludes three-match homestand against Thunder

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team continues College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play against Wheaton College at Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Ill. Friday, Oct. 10. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The Titans (6-3, 2-3 CCIW) continue their weekend, Saturday, Oct. 11 on the road against North Park University for an 11:30 a.m. duel. 

In IWU's 4-3 loss to Carthage College Saturday, Oct. 4, juniors Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) and Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) won at No. 2 doubles. In singles play, IWU won three of the six matches. Freshmen Adia Douglas (Flossmoor, Ill.-Homewood Flossmoor) and Elana Religioso (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet) won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Sophomore Gabi Lipske (Gurnee, Ill.-Mundelein) rounded out the match with a three-set win at No. 2 singles, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Wheaton (6-2, 4-1 CCIW) last defeated Augustana College, 6-1, Saturday, Oct. 4. The Thunder currently command a 24-match win streak over the Green and White including a 7-0 sweep in 2024.

North Park (3-5, 2-4 CCIW) most recently dropped a 7-0 decision Wednesday, Oct. 8 to North Central College. The Vikings have won the last four matchups against the Titans. Last season in the CCIW Tournament quarterfinals, NPU prevailed, 4-1, which ended the Titans' campaign.
