Men’s Soccer Draws at Wabash

CCIW play begins next week

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - After being down in the first half, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team bounced back to score and tie the game against Wabash College, Saturday, Sept. 28, to bring its record to a 6-0-2 record continuing to be unbeatable this season. This sets Wabash at a 7-2-1 record, giving the Little Giants their first tie of the season. 

WC was quick to score the first goal of the game, cracking the scoreboard within the first 12 minutes. The rest of the half remained scoreless on both sides. 

The second half showed more action for the Titans when freshman Elsworth McIntosh (Lake In The Hills, Ill.-Harry D. Jacobs) scored to tie the game at the 76th minute. With a pass from senior Justin Bruso (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) to put the ball in the air for a Little Giant defender to head the ball right to McIntosh. The freshman shot a swift right foot kick to the left side of the net to score the equalizer.

Junior Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) played 90 minutes between the pipes tallying five saves and one goal allowed. 

IWU takes a week break with its next game on Saturday, Oct. 5 to start the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play against Carthage College. Game time is set for 1 p.m. on Neis Field for Homecoming.
