ABCA Release

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team was awarded the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award, announced by the organization Wednesday, July 24. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the IWU baseball team has achieved this honor. 

In order to receive the award, a team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 during the 2023-24 academic year, and the head coach must be a current ABCA member. The organization honors programs at the high school and college level. More than 470 collegiate programs earned the honor.

Illinois Wesleyan was one of six College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin institutions to receive the award. Augustana College, Carroll University, North Central College, North Park University, and Wheaton College also received the award.
