BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Five members of the Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team were named to the Golf Coaches Association of America PING All-Region 5 Team as sophomores Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central) and Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central), juniors Quinn Clifford (Chicago, Ill.-Brother Rice) and Griffin Pohl (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township), and fifth-year Bobby Beaubien (Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) earn the distinction. The organization announced its selections Thursday afternoon, May 16.

Bai, Clifford, Pohl, and Beaubien each earn all-region honors for the second straight year while Spitzer picks up the first nod of his young career.

Bai competed in 11 tournaments, posting a 73.5 stroke average over 28 rounds. He has a trio of top-10 finishes on the year including a runner-up finish at the Take Back the Night Challenge, April 19-20. A CCIW Golfer of the Week selection, Bai has recorded seven rounds of par-or-better and earned All-CCIW honors with a fourth-place finish at the league championship.

Spitzer picked up All-Region honors for the first time in his young career after turning in a runner-up finish at the CCIW Championships for all-conference honors. He followed that with an All-America placement at the NCAA Championship, where he tied for eighth. The sophomore competed in 22 rounds, posting a 73.5 stroke average. Spitzer has four top-10 finishes on the year and has recorded 10 rounds of par-or-better.

Competing in 11 tournaments, Clifford turned in five top-10 finishes with a 73.2 stroke average over 28 rounds. The junior has totaled seven rounds of par-or-better. Clifford was named the CCIW Golfer of the Week twice this season and rounded out the Titans' sweep of the top-five placings at the CCIW Championship to earn all-conference accolades.

Pohl earned All-Region honors for the second straight season after competing in 11 tournaments while posting a 73.0 stroke average over 28 rounds. Pohl finished third at the CCIW Championship tournament before tying for third at the NCAA Championship, marking his fourth and fifth top-five finishes this year. Pohl totaled 13 par-or-better rounds and was named the CCIW Golfer of the Week twice in his junior campaign.

Adding all-region honors to an outstanding fifth-year season, Beaubien is coming off a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin medalist performance at the league championships where he was also tabbed the conference's Golfer of the Year. Beaubien competed in 11 tournaments this year, posting a 72.8 stroke average over 28 rounds. He has four top-10 finishes on the year and has been par-or-better in all 10 tournaments. Beaubien earned CCIW Golfer of the Week honors after shooting five-under (67) at the single-round CCIW Preview, Sept. 26.
