BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – After earning at least a share of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Regular Season Championship title with its win on Senior Day last weekend, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team is headed north to Waukesha, Wis. for its final regular season bout with Carroll University. Game time at Schneider Stadium is slated for 3 p.m.

The Green and White stuck out a thrilling 15-13 win over Elmhurst University last Saturday, April 20, guaranteeing at least a share of the CCIW title as the only remaining undefeated team in the league. Elmhurst and North Central College are tied for second in team standings, each holding a 3-1 CCIW record, and will go head-to-head Saturday afternoon.

In IWU's battle with the Bluejays a week ago, four Titans recorded hat tricks, including seniors Gage Black (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap) and Trystan Seeley (Castle Rock, Colo.-Castle View), and junior Sam Weinberg (Highwood, Ill.-Oak Park River Forest), and freshman Jake Kahoun (Worthington, Ohio-Thomas Worthington). Sophomore Noah Dretzka (Delafield, Wis.-Kettle Moraine) and junior Sam Skelton (Portland, Ore.-Franklin) had two and one goal, respectively, to give IWU the 15-13 edge. Skelton also had the second-most ground balls and caused a team-high four turnovers. Defensively, junior Colin Tervo (West Linn, Ore.-West Linn) racked up nine saves in goal and led the team with six ground balls.

So far this season, Black leads the team in both points (55) and goals (38) while Seeley and freshman Timothy McHugh (Orland Park, Ill.-Mount Carmel) are tied for second in points with 39. McHugh has had a phenomenal rookie season as he leads the team with 26 assists and his 2.36 assists per game leads the conference and is tied for 28th in Division III this season. As a team, IWU sits 19th nationally in points per game with 26.31 while ranking 14th in scoring offense (16.69).

IWU heads into Saturday's matchup with a 10-3, 4-0 CCIW record and is on an eight-game win streak while Carroll is 6-9, 0-4 CCIW. The Pioneers are anchoring the league standings and are looking for their first win in conference play. Historically, IWU owns an 8-0 record in the all-time series, dating back to the 2015 season.

The Titans' last game of the regular season against Carroll is set for 3 p.m. at Schneider Stadium in Waukesha, Wis. The contest will be available via live stats and live stream. Both links can be found on the men's lacrosse schedule page of iwusports.com or at iwusports.com/coverage.
