BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Hosting the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team will kick off the three days of action at Evergreen Racquet Club by facing top-seeded North Central College Thursday, April 25, at 9 a.m. The Titans (7-10) enter the CCIW Quarterfinals as the eighth-seed, while NCC (20-7), the CCIW regular season champions, owns the No. 1 seed, and is currently ranked 25th nationally by Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

IWU advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Elmhurst University, 9-0, in the play-in match Sunday, April 14. The Green and White took care of business in doubles play to secure an early win to enter singles action. The freshmen duo of Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) and Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) swept their match, 8-0, at No. 1 doubles. Sophomores Kate Christian (Washington, Ill.-Washington Community) and Raji More (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) picked up the win at No. 2 doubles, claiming an 8-4 victory. Ehrlich, Bell, and Christian stayed hot in singles action, as all three claimed their second victory of the day. Honored prior to the match for senior day, Macy Michorczyk (Franklin Park, Ill.-West Leyden) picked up a gritty win at No. 4 singles to capitalize on her day.

Illinois Wesleyan and North Central will face off for the 35th time, with the Titans holding a 23-11 edge in the series. The Titans won the first 17 meetings against the Cardinals, but NCC holds the upper hand in the last seven contests, including the most recent match. The Cardinals took down the Green and White, 9-0, Wednesday, Sept. 13.
