BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University softball team will remain at home Tuesday, March 26, for a non-conference doubleheader against Illinois College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Inspiration Field.

The Titans sit at 8-4 on the season and carry a six-game win streak in Tuesday's twin bill. IWU most recently swept Monmouth College in its home opener Thursday, March 21. The Green and White walloped the Scots, 21-2, in game one, posting the second-highest run total in single game history. Illinois Wesleyan completed the sweep with a 7-1 victory in the nightcap. On the flipside, IC is 5-10 on the year. The Lady Blues enter Tuesday off a split with Fontbonne University, March 23, that saw IC win 7-2 before being edged 4-3.

Illinois Wesleyan's offense has put up gaudy numbers through the first 12 games of the season, holding a team slash line of .346 / .476 / .414. Junior Jen Kuhn (Normal, Ill.-University High) is leading the Titans with a team-best .500 batting average, while also topping the team with a .700 slugging and .556 on-base percentage. Sophomore Anna Beckman (Bourbonnais, Ill.-Bishop McNamara), the reigning College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Hitter of the Week, is not far behind with a .481 batting average. Freshman Hailey Milgazo (Poway, Calif.-Poway) and sophomore Casey Wissmiller (Bloomington, Ill.-Olympia) are hitting .459 and .422 on the season, respectively. Wissmiller is IWU's RBI leads with 14 and also leads the team with three homers.

Sophomores Gianna Certa (Third Lake, Ill.-Grayslake North) and Caroline Gatchell (Grayslake, Ill.-Carmel Catholic) have led the pitching staff. Certa holds a team-best 1.53 earned run average with 27 strikeouts on the season over 32 innings of work. Gatchell holds a 3.08 ERA, with both sophomores tallying 3-1 records in the circle. Freshman Mallory Holland (Shelbyville, Ill.-Shelbyville) has compiled a 3.34 earned run average over 14.2 innings of work.

First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 26. Both games will be live streamed through the Titan Broadcast Network, while live stats will also be provided through links on the softball schedule page of iwusports.com.
