Men’s Lacrosse Heads to Colorado for Spring Break Trip

Titans kick off Spring Break against Cortland

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Coming off a nearly two week hiatus, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team is set for a two-game week in Colorado Springs, Colo. against State University of New York-Cortland and Colorado College. IWU's first matchup against Cortland is slated for Wednesday, March 13 at Washburn Field at 3 p.m. MT. 

The Green and White enters the spring break trip with a 2-2 record after most recently defeating Aurora University (2-3) Saturday, March 2 in a 24-15 showing. A total of 13 Titans got in on the scoring action against the Spartans with senior Trystan Seeley (Castle Rock, Colo.-Castle View) leading the way with four goals, followed by senior Gage Black (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap) and junior John Kittoe (Waunakee, Wis.-Waunakee), who put up three goals apiece. Freshman Timothy McHugh (Orland Park, Ill.-Mount Carmel) had the team-lead six points composed of a pair of goals and four assists. Senior Zo Lombardo (Elgin, Ill.-Saint Viator) notched an impressive 22 of 30 faceoff wins while junior Colin Tervo (West Linn, Ore.-West Linn) picked up the win in the net with 30 minutes played and tallying three saves to bring his season saves total to 37.

Seniors Seeley, Ethan Hart (Littleton, Colo.-J.K. Mullen), Ike Eastburn (Colorado Springs, Colo.-Cheyenne Mountain) and junior Nick Horrocks (Boulder, Colo.-Fairview) will make the return to their home state for the two-game slate against Cortland and Colorado College. 

Wednesday's meeting with Cortland will be the first time the two teams meet on the field in program history. Cortland enters the contest with a 2-1 record after most recently falling to Cabrini University 12-11. 

Wednesday's match against Cortland is scheduled for a 3 p.m. MT start at Colorado College's Washburn Field in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Titans will return to Washburn Field on Saturday, March 16 to face the week's host, Colorado College, at 1 p.m. MT. The match will be available via live stats and live stream.
