Softball Travels to Kentucky Hopeful of 2024 Opener

IWU and Centre set for 11 a.m. ET first pitch

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University softball team will meet Centre College for a doubleheader Saturday, Feb. 24, to begin its 2024 season. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m ET.

The Green and White returns five All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin performers from last season's CCIW Regular Season Championship squad. Reigning Co-CCIW Player of the Year Ava Khoury (Columbia, Ill.-Columbia), a two-year starter at first base, is back after an exceptional sophomore season. Senior Bailey Turner (Normal, Ill.-Normal West), junior Jen Kuhn (Normal, Ill.-University High), and sophomores Casey Wissmiller (Bloomington, Ill.-Olympia) and Claire Post (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) also return. Khoury, Turner, Kuhn, and Post garnered first team honors in 2023, with Post also being voted the league's Newcomer of the Year. Wismiller was a second team pick.

Tiffany Prager, who enters her eighth season at the helm of the Green and White, returns a total of 14 players from last season's team alongside a promising class of nine newcomers.
