Women’s Tennis Falls to Wheaton

Back in action tomorrow, Oct. 12 at North Central

WHEATON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team opened its two match weekend with a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match against Wheaton College Friday, Oct. 11. The Titans fell to the Thunder 7-0 in the match as IWU dips to 6-5 and 2-5 in CCIW play while Wheaton climbs to 7-3 and 6-1 in league action.

The Green and White faced a tough feat Friday night going up against the No. 2 team in the conference.

With nearly every Titan taking games from the Thunder, it was sophomore Carly Edwards (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora Township) and freshman Katie Van Heuklon (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) with the closest battle at No. 3 doubles but the pair ultimately fell 7-6 to the Wheaton duo of Janet Kondo and Delaney Canning.

Illinois Wesleyan is back on the courts tomorrow Oct. 12, at 9 a.m. for its CCIW bout of the weekend with North Central College at the Naperville Tennis Club.
