BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team continues its five-match road stint this weekend, Sept. 22-23, with a pair of matches at North Park University and Alverno College. The Titans travel to North Park Friday, Sept. 22, for a 3:30 p.m. College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin bout before continuing north to Milwaukee, Wis. for an 11 a.m. first serve at Alverno.
Illinois Wesleyan heads into the weekend after a 6-3 loss at Millikin University, Sept. 19. The loss dipped the Titans to 2-3 on the season and 0-3 against conference competition. NPU is off to a 4-0 start to the year and sits 1-0 in the CCIW. The Vikings most recently blanked Elmhurst, 9-0, Sept. 13. Alverno is winless on the year, having dropped its first six matches of the season.
Friday's match will mark the 11th meeting between the Titans and Vikings since 2014. IWU holds an 8-2 lead in the series, but NPU took last year's meeting by a 9-0 tally. The loss snapped Illinois Wesleyan's seven-match win streak against North Park. Meanwhile, Saturday will be just the second match between IWU and AC. The Green and White hold the 1-0 edge in the series following an 8-1 win in Bloomington March 26, 2023.
