BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After opening the 2023-24 season with a win on the road, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team will host its first contest of the season, taking on Illinois College Monday, Sept. 11. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Evergreen Racquet Club's outdoor courts.
The Titans (1-0) opened their season with a 7-2 win at Concordia University Chicago Friday, Sept. 8. The match saw all three freshmen pick up their first collegiate victory. Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) and
Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) kicked off their collegiate careers with an 8-3 decision at No. 1 doubles before picking up individual victories at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively.
Carly Edwards (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora Township) notched her first win at No. 2 doubles with sophomore
Kate Christian (Washington, Ill.-Washington Community). Also picking up her first individual win was senior
Macy Michorczyk (Franklin Park, Ill.-West Leyden), who won at No. 6 singles.
IC (1-1) enters the match off a 6-3 win over the University of Dubuque Saturday, Sept. 9. This will be the second meeting in program history, with the two teams each having won a contest. The Lady Blue walked away victorious in the most recent match, Sept. 9, 2022.
