Women’s Tennis Eyes Dual with Elmhurst for CCIW Tournament Play-in Match

Winner advances to CCIW Tournament Quarterfinals

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team will travel to Elmhurst University for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament play-in match Saturday, April 15. First serve is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Brune Tennis Courts. The winner of the dual will advance to the Quarterfinals to face No. 1 seeded North Central College.

The Titans (1-13, 0-8 CCIW) enter the match off an 8-1 win over Alverno College, Sunday, March 26. The match saw Jason Van Heuklon pick up his first win as the head coach of the women's team, along with junior Macy Michorczyk (Franklin Park, Ill.-West Leyden), sophomore Liza Matimore (Gurnee, Ill.-Warren Township), and freshman Marianna Arias (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) collecting their first collegiate victories.

Elmhurst (7-7, 1-7 CCIW) most recently took down McHenry County College, 8-1, Thursday, April 6. The match Saturday will mark the 16th meeting all-time, with IWU holding a slim 8-7 advantage. EU took the first meeting this season, winning 8-1, October 12, 2022.
