Men’s Volleyball Awaits Home Match Against Augustana

Titans look to pick up first CCIW win of season

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After a disappointing loss at North Park University Wednesday night, March 8, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team looks to get back in the win column, as the Titans (9-9, 0-3 CCIW) host Augustana College (9-6, 0-2 CCIW) Saturday, March 11. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. inside Shirk Center.

IWU enters the match after being swept at North Park (9-7, 1-2 CCIW) with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-17. Junior Michael Eastman (Chicago, Ill.-Saint Ignatius) led the match with 12 kills, while junior Javier Romano (Prospect Heights, Ill.-Wheeling) recorded a career-best seven kills in the match. Romano added four total blocks for the Titan defense, three coming on solo rejections.

Augustana split its matches Wednesday night, March 8. The Vikings fell in five sets to Concordia University Chicago, then bounced back to win in five sets against Baldwin Wallace University.

This will mark the fourth meeting between the CCIW foes, with Augie holding the 3-1 advantage. The Titans took the most recent matchup, winning in four sets March 27, 2022. Eastman dominated the match, as he finished with 14 kills on a .343 clip, 12 digs, three service aces, and three blocks. Then-freshman Ryan Myers (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.-Stevenson) added 10 kills for the Green and White.
