Men’s Volleyball Travels to Iowa For CCIW Clash

Titans to play Loras College Saturday, March 18

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After a week off from competition, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team will travel to Dubuque, Iowa for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match against Loras College Saturday, March 18. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Titans (9-10, 0-4 CCIW) enter after dropping a match to Augustana College Saturday, March 11, falling in three sets. Junior Julian Perez (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) led the Green and White offense with six kills, while junior Michael Eastman (Chicago, Ill.-Saint Ignatius) finished with five kills and one service ace.

Eastman leads IWU with 189 kills in 62 sets played, good for an average of 3.05 kills per set. Perez follows with 108 kills while adding 30 total blocks, good for second most on the team. Sophomore Jake Kougan (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) leads the net protection with 38 rejections.

Loras (13-3, 2-2 CCIW), who is a member of the CCIW for men's volleyball, enters off a sweep over North Park University Saturday, March 11. This will mark the fifth matchup between the two programs, all of which have been won by the Duhawks. The most recent battle took place on March 12, 2022, with Loras winning in straight sets. Perez led the Titan offense with six kills, followed by Kougan's five.
