BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Amid a match-filled week, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team will host Carthage College and Carroll University for two College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin matches over homecoming weekend, Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 7-8, at Evergreen Racquet Club. Saturday's match against Carthage (0-3, 0-3 CCIW) will begin at 10 a.m., while Sunday's contest vs. Carroll (3-5, 1-3 CCIW) is scheduled for a 9 a.m. start.
The Titans (5-4, 1-4 CCIW) enter the weekend off a 7-2 win over CCIW foe Elmhurst University, extending their win streak to three. Saturday's match will be the 36th meeting between the two IWU and Carthage. The Firebirds hold a commanding 27-8 advantage in the series, and took the most recent meeting, 9-0, Oct. 8, 2022. Carthage will face Millikin University Friday, Oct. 5, before stopping at IWU.
IWU and Carroll will face off for only the 12th time, with the series dating back to 1989. The Pioneers hold a slim 6-5 advantage, winning the previous meeting, 9-0, Oct. 5, 2022. The Pios will also face Millikin prior to Sunday's match, taking on the Big Blue Saturday, Oct. 6.
