Men’s Soccer Celebrates Senior Day During Last Regular Season Game

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team is set to celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 21 against No. 6 North Central College. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. with senior day festivities set to commence around 3:20 p.m.

The Titans are looking to bounce back from their fall to Elmhurst University Wednesday, Oct. 18, where the Titans took a 2-nil loss. The Green and White go into Saturday's game 5-5-3 on the season and 3-2-2 in conference. North Central is ranked sixth in the latest United Soccer Coaches national rankings poll. The Cardinals most recently played Millikin University and had a 3-nil victory over the Big Blue. NCC heads into Saturday's competition 13-1-2 on the season and is 4-0-2 in conference play.

The Green and White are celebrating seniors Sasha Tylnyy (Wheeling, Ill.-Buffalo Grove), CJ Rodriguez (Santa Barabra, Calif.-Dos Pueblos), Davis Quarles (Naperville, Ill.-Metea Valley), Brody Seaton (Dunlap, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame), Issac Plagakis (Sycamore, Ill.-Sycamore), and Ryan Miller (Shingle Springs, Calif.-Oak Ridge). The seniors collectively have totaled 9528 minutes of playing time over their careers, have 16 goals and 14 assists, and have totaled nine shutouts with their teams throughout their career. 

The Titans and the Cardinals have a lengthy history dating back to 1986. The teams have met a total of 38 times with the most recent meeting being Oct. 22, 2022, where the Cardinals bested the Titans 3-2. The Titans trail in the series by a 19-14-5 record and have lost three straight against NCC dating back to 2019. That season, IWU outlasted North Central in overtime, 1-0, in the regular season before ousting the Cardinals from the CCIW Tournament via PKs.
