Women’s Tennis Drops Home Opener

Titans fall, 9-0 to Augustana in first conference dual

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - In the first home tennis match of the year, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team fell to Augustana College, 9-0 Friday, Sept. 16.

The freshmen duo of Raji More and Kate Christian paired up to take on the Vikings' Lily Schoeck and Hannah Colbert in the top doubles match. At No. 1 doubles, More and Christian scored the only points for the Titans (0-2, 0-1 CCIW), but fell to the Vikings (1-1, 1-1 CCIW) duo, 8-1. Sophomore Andie Wilson was the only solo Titan to pick up a point at No. 4 singles, but was defeated with scores of 6-1, 6-0.

The Green and White travel to the suburbs of Chicago next, where they will face Wheaton College on Friday, Sept. 23 at 4:45 p.m., and North Central College the following day at 9 a.m.
