BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team prepares for a non-conference tilt against Aurora University Saturday, April 2 inside Tucci Stadium. The Titans (4-4, 1-0) will play the Spartans (4-4) at 3:30 p.m. following the IWU women's lacrosse game.

This Saturday, several Illinois Wesleyan athletic teams will come together to raise money for St. Jude. As part of the day, t-shirts will be sold for $15 at the men's and women's lacrosse games, softball games, baseball games, and men's volleyball game. Additionally, each game will host a 50/50 raffle, with proceeds from both the raffle and t-shirt sales going to St. Jude.

The Titans opened College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play Saturday, March 26, against Transylvania University. IWU went on to win, 18-17 in an exciting overtime game. As a result of his performance against Transy, junior Carson Kiichle (Vancouver, Wash.-Skyview) was named the CCIW Offensive Player of the Week announced by the league, March 29. Kiichle led the Titans with six points after three goals and three assists. The Vancouver, Wash. native stood out after his game-changing, back-to-back, goals with under one minute remaining in the game to force overtime play. In extra time IWU got the job done to secure the win.

Aurora last played a familiar foe to the Titans, North Central College, March 30. In a tight-knit game, the Spartans fell to the Cardinals, 15-14. The Titans will act as the Spartans last non-conference opponent before heading into league play. Similarly, IWU will also jump into conference play after its spar with the Spartans on Saturday with an additional non-conference matchups also penciled in the schedule later in the season.

As both the Titans and Spartans hold a 4-4 record on the season, it also matches the all-time series between the two squads. Dating back to the 2015 season, IWU and AU have faced off a total of eight times with the series split, 4-4. The Spartans kicked off the series winning the first three games, although the Titans have won the last three games. Most recently IWU traveled to Aurora last season where the Titans left Spartan territory with a 12-11 victory, March 24.
