BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After the Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team staved off elimination from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin postseason with a win yesterday, the Green and White will take a breather from CCIW play to face another tough test in second-ranked Dominican University. The match is set for Tuesday, March 29, in River Forest, Ill. with first serve at 6 p.m. Coming into this match, the Titans own an overall record of 8-13, while the Stars are soaring with a 19-1 overall mark.

IWU faces a short turnaround, after last touching the court yesterday, March 27. The Green and White battled CCIW rival, Augustana College and secured a win to keep its CCIW Tournament berth hopes alive. Sophomore Michael Eastman (Chicago, Ill.-Saint Ignatius) led the charge with his 14-kill, 12-dig double-double. 

The Stars enter the contest with a little more rest, having last played Saturday, March 26. DU took on Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference opponent, Rockford University. Dominican swept the Regents in straight sets. 

The Green and White faced Rockford twice, earlier in the season as IWU came out victorious in a straight-set sweep and a five-set thriller.

The Titans have not backed down from playing ranked opponents this season, as IWU has played four matches against the AVCA's top-seven teams. The Green and White has won two sets against top-seven teams this season, taking one from Carthage and another from North Central.

Through 21 matches played this season, Eastman owns the team lead with 218 kills and 34 aces. Sophomores Julian Perez (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) and KJ Johnson (Saint John, Ind.-Marian Catholic) round out the top-three in the kills department with 139 and 107 kills, respectively.

Sophomore Bradley Benson (Lemont, Ill.-Lemont Township) and freshman Vince DiCosola (Aurora, Ill.-Oswego East) have combined to notch 558 assists. Benson has generated 296, while DiCosola has earned 262.

Freshman Jake Kougan (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) tops the team with his 46 rejections.
