BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - With rain exiting the forecast, the Illinois Wesleyan University softball team will return to action with six games in four days beginning Friday, March 25. IWU will open up a four-game home stint with a twin bill against Monmouth College Friday, March 25, at 2 p.m. at Inspiration Field. The Titans will then host Coe College Sunday, March 27, for two games before heading to Illinois College for a doubleheader Monday, March 28.

Illinois Wesleyan rolls into the weekend with a 5-7 record, having won four of its last six games. Monmouth will visit Bloomington with hopes of snapping a four-game losing skid. Coe, which took part in the NFCA Leadoff Classic with the Titans earlier this month, are off to a 10-4 start to the year. The Kohawks will battle Millikin in a pair of games in Decatur, March 26, before taking on the Titans. IC, which is scheduled to host Fontbonne tomorrow, March 25, is 3-6 this season following its spring break trip to Florida, March 6-11.

Senior Hayley Earl (Washington, Ill.-Washington) leads an IWU offense that is hitting .313 collectively on the season. Earl boasts a team-best .375 batting average and is one of six Titans with a homer this season. Prospect, Ill.-Prospect) is not far behind, with two roundtrippers, while she has walked a team-best 10 times and holds an on-base percentage of .500. Junior Madison Moore (Verona, Wis.-Edgewood) is the team leader with 12 hits, including a pair of triples.

In the circle, junior Nina Mardjetko (Lemont, Ill.-Lemont) has thrown a team-high 38 innings. She leads the staff with three wins and 15 strikeouts. Sophomore Bailey Turner (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) sits at 1-1 on the year, with senior Madie Monk (Manteno, Ill.-Manteno) holding a 1-1 record as well.
