KENOSHA, Wis. - Illinois Wesleyan University's women's tennis team fell to Carthage College 9-0, Oct. 8. The Firebirds (3-4, 3-4 CCIW) proved to be too much to handle for the IWU squad, who fell to 0-7 overall and 0-6 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play.

Freshman Raji More (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) heavily contested Carthage's Laura Da Silva at No. 2 singles, but dropped the match 7-5, 6-1.

More and freshman Kate Christian (Washington, Ill.-Washington Community) paired up at No. 1 doubles and picked up the only duo game point for the Green and White. The freshman pair fell to Carthage's Sasha Manojlovic and Giovanna Mendes 8-1.

Illinois Wesleyan hits the road for a CCIW midweek matchup with Elmhurst University on Wednesday, Oct. 12. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the Brune Tennis Courts. Results will be posted on iwusports.com following the completion of the match.
