Women's Tennis Downed in Decatur

Titans drop to 1-5 on the year

DECATUR, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team was overpowered in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play at Millikin University Wednesday, Sept. 22. 

With the setback, the Titans record tips to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in CCIW matches. The Big Blue boosted its record to 5-1 on the year with a 1-0 conference mark.

Junior Katelyn Heller (Glen Ellyn, Ill.-Glenbard West) played a tight match at No. 4 singles against MU's Cristina Borunda. Heller took the first set 6-3, before Borunda evened it up with a 6-3 win of her own. In the tiebreaker, Heller fell short 10-8.

Illinois Wesleyan returns to action at home Friday, Oct. 1, against Wheaton College. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
