Women’s Tennis to Take on Millikin

Titans resume conference play for the remainder of the fall season

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play is in full swing for the Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team as it takes on Millikin University Wednesday, Sept. 22 at Fairview Park Tennis Complex in Decatur, Ill. First serve is slated for 4 p.m.

The Titans are coming off a split match day this past weekend Saturday, Sept. 18. IWU traveled to Greenville, Ill. where they won its first match of the season, 5-4, against Principia College before falling to host Greenville University, 8-1.

Senior Maria Poehls (Wauwatosa, Wis.-Wauwatosa West) leads the Green and White, as she is 3-2 in singles on the year. The senior picked up wins during both matches at No. 5 and 6 singles, Saturday Sept. 18 and at No. 6 singles against Augustana, Sept. 11.

The Big Blue will meet IWU with a 4-1 overall record. MU's latest game was against CCIW opponent North Park University, where the Big Blue defeated the Vikings 8-1.
