DECATUR, Ill. - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Softball Tournament continues this weekend, Thursday-Saturday, May 13-15, at Workman Family Field on the campus of Millikin University. The second-seeded Illinois Wesleyan University softball team picks back up against No. 1 seed Millikin Friday, May 13, at noon.
The Titans and Big Blue split a four-game regular season series, 2-2, with the two teams splitting doubleheaders in Decatur, March 31, and in Bloomington, April 30. Millikin advanced through the first two days of the tournament with wins over eighth-seeded Augustana (5-1) and fifth-seeded North Central (7-6 - 10 innings). Illinois Wesleyan won games against Wheaton (4-1) and Carthage (4-1), May 6-8, to set up Friday's bout.
The winner of the IWU-MU matchup will advance to Saturday's championship. The loser will play in the 5 p.m. game against the winner of the second game of the day which will feature the winners of today's games between Carroll and Carthage, and Wheaton and North Central.Â
