Women’s Tennis Edged by Elmhurst

Titans look to bounce back tomorrow against Wheaton

ELMHURST, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team came up short in a 6-3 loss against Elmhurst University Friday, April 9. The Titans, who were short by two players, took wins at No. 1 and 3 singles and at No. 2 doubles to round out IWU's three points.

Lone senior Rebecca Rochacz (Tinley Park, Ill.-Andrew) secured the win with scores of 7-6 and 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Not only did Rochacz defeat her singles competition, the Tinley Park, Ill. native paired up with first-time partner and sophomore Katelyn Heller (Glen Ellyn, Ill.-Glenbard West) to collect the 8-3 win at No. 2 singles.

Junior Ashley Mohr (Morton, Ill.-Morton) represented the Green and White with a win at No. 3 singles, outdoing her competition with scores of 6-2 and 6-1.

The Titans head to Wheaton College tomorrow, Saturday April 10 for a 12 p.m. game.
