Softball Opens Four-Game Homestand with Twin Bill Against NCC

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University softball team opens a four-game homestand with a doubleheader against North Central College Tuesday, April 27, at Inspiration Field. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Illinois Wesleyan boosted its record to 21-9 overall and 18-6 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with a sweep of North Park, April 25. The Titans rallied for a win in extra innings in game one, taking the opener by a score of 7-2. IWU then came back to win the nightcap, 8-5. North Central enters the week at 16-13 overall, 12-11 in the CCIW. The Cardinals are on a three-game win streak, most recently sweeping a twin bill against Augustana by scores of 2-1 and 9-6.

IWU and NCC have met 96 times since 1981, with the series split 48-48. The Titans have won five straight against the Cardinals, dating back to the 2018 season. North Central's last win against Illinois Wesleyan came during the 2017 season, when the Green and White dropped both legs of a doubleheader by a score of 6-3.
