BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team swept North Park University 5-0 in its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play-in match Sunday, April 25. The Titans' win pushed them through to the CCIW Quarterfinals, where IWU will take on No. 1 seed North Central College Tuesday, April 27.

Both the Titans and Vikings competed with four players during the mid-morning match. Due to low numbers the first team to three total points secured the win, while both coaches agreed to play out the remaining bouts.

The doubles pairing of senior Rebecca Rochacz (Tinley Park, Ill.-Andrew) and junior Ashley Mohr (Morton, Ill.-Morton) went head-to-head in the only doubles game of the day. The duo went on to take the match 8-3 and secured the first point for the Green and White. At No. 1 singles Rochacz claimed the second point for the Titans, as she took both sets with scores of 6-0 and 6-2. Shortly after, Mohr notched the third point at No. 3 singles that gave the Green and White the official win, with scores of 6-2 and 6-1.

In the remaining matches, junior Anna Cooper (Mt. Prospect, Ill.-Prospect) took the win in both sets at 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and sophomore Katelyn Heller (Glen Ellyn, Ill.-Glenbard West) came through with the sweep, beating her opponent at No. 4 singles, 6-4 and 7-5.

The Titans travel to Naperville, Ill. to battle North Central College in the quarterfinals of the CCIW tournament.
