Women's Tennis Topples North Park

Titans close out the regular season Saturday, April 24

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team blanked North Park University 7-0 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin competition Sunday, April 18 at Beadles-Morse Courts. The win is the first conference victory of the season for the Titans, who improved to 2-9, 1-6 in the CCIW. 

With both teams playing short-handed, the Titans took wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles, as well as No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 singles. IWU claimed a win at No. 5 singles via forfeit.

Junior Alessia Girardin (Chicago, Ill.-Regina Dominican) and senior Rebecca Rochacz (Tinley Park, Ill.-Andrew) picked up an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles. Girardin then won her match at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-1, while Rochacz notched a win at No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-2. 

Junior Anna Cooper (Mt. Prospect, Ill.-Prospect) and Ashley Mohr (Morton, Ill.-Morton) won at No. 3 and 4 singles, respectively. Cooper recorded the win with 6-2 and 6-0 set victories, and Mohr won 6-0, 6-2.

Illinois Wesleyan closes out the regular season with a Senior Day match against Millikin University, April 24 at Beadles-Morse Courts.
