ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team starts College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play on the road against Augustana College Thursday, April 1 at 7 p.m. The Titans went 5-1 during their non-conference matchups with a record of 2-1 at home and 3-0 away from Tucci Stadium. Augie enters CCIW play with an overall record of 4-2.
The Titans' faceoff specialists, senior Max Bousky (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) and junior
Zac Taylor (Brighton, Mich.-Brighton), were honored this week due to their work at the X last week. Bousky was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association DIII Team of the Week, March 30 and Taylor was named CCIW Face-Off Player of the Week, March 29. Bousky holds a .728 faceoff percentage and Taylor sits at .706 on the season.
In his 2021 debut, goalkeeper Thomas Laduzinsky (Geneva, Ill.-Wheaton Academy) entered the game at halftime during the Southern Virginia game March 28 to take the winning decision in the Titans 21-18 victory where the junior made 11 saves for the Green and White.
The Vikings and Titans have seen each other a total of nine times since 2015, missing their chance to face off in 2020 due to the shortened season. IWU has the edge over AC with a 7-2 overall record which includes a seven-game win streak for the Green and White.
