BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University softball team takes its three-game win streak on the road for a midweek matchup with Millikin University Wednesday, March 31. First pitch of the doubleheader between the Titans and Big Blue is set for 4 p.m.

IWU enters the week even at 5-5 on the year and 3-3 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play. The Titans most recently swept Carroll 6-0 and 16-1, March 28. Millikin also carries a three-game win streak into Wednesday's double dip and holds a 9-5 overall record. MU upped its conference record to 6-2 with a sweep at Augustana, March 28.

Junior Hayley Earl (Washington, Ill.-Washington) paces IWU offensively, as one of four Titans hitting .300+ through the team's first 10 games. Earl leads the team with a .375 batting average and tops the Titans with 12 hits. She ranks second in runs (7) and RBIs (8). Freshman Megan Fontanetta (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Buffalo Grove) and sophomore Madison Moore (Verona, Wis.-Edgewood) are hitting .321 each. Moore's eight runs scored, seven of which came last week, lead the team. Junior Colleen Palczynski (Mt. Prospect, Ill.-Prospect) is the team leader with three home runs and 10 RBIs.

Sophomore Natalie Grubczak (Medinah, Ill.-Lake Park) and freshman Bailey Turner (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) picked up wins in the circle for the Titans last week. Grubczak notched two wins, while Turner recorded the other in a 3-1 week for IWU. Grubczak tossed a complete game shutout in game one of IWU's win over Carroll, while Turner tossed the final three innings of the Titans' 16-1 win in game two.

Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin have squared off 58 times ahead of this week's twin bill, with the Titans holding a 42-16 edge in the series all-time. IWU edged MU to sweep a doubleheader in Decatur, Ill. during the 2019 season. The Titans took game one in extras, 2-0, courtesy of Shelby Fulk's two-run single. IWU walked off with a 1-0 win in game two on Brittany Murphy's RBI double.
