Men's Volleyball Treks to Carthage for Final Road Match of Season

First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team hits the road for the final time in the 2021 season when it travels to Kenosha, Wis. Saturday, March 27, for a clash with No. 2 Carthage College. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Illinois Wesleyan (2-12, 1-8 CCIW) came up short against Augustana, March 24. The Titans battled tough with the Vikings, but ultimately fell 25-22, 25-21, and 25-17. Carthage (14-0, 9-0 CCIW) is coming off top-15 wins against No. 13 North Central and No. 7 Benedictine, March 20-24. The Firebirds will face off against Milwaukee School of Engineering Friday night, before taking on the Titans Saturday.

Michael Eastman (Chicago, Ill.-Saint Ignatius) leads the team with 140 kills on the season, while KJ Johnson (Saint John, Ind.-Marian Catholic) has recorded 102 kills. Eastman also paces IWU with 14 aces, with Johnson ranking second with 11. 

Bradley Benson (Lemont, Ill.-Lemont) and Dominic Bennett (Lockport, Ill.-Plainfield Central) orchestrate the IWU attack, and have tallied 170 and 163 assists, respectively.

Defensively, Adam Blackmore (Geneva, Ill.-Geneva) and Alec Mucha (Geneva, Ill.-Geneva) lead the Titans. Blackmore's 84 digs lead IWU, while Mucha's notched a team-high 24 blocks. Julian Perez (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) and Johnson have 23 and 20 blocks on the season, respectively.
