MONTGOMERY, ILL. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team will make its way to Aurora University for a midweek game Wednesday, March 24 at 5 p.m. The Titans hit the road for the second time this season, having notched a 16-14 victory over Rhodes College, March 14.

IWU is now 3-1 on the season and 1-0 on the road, while AU sits at 2-3 on the season.

Senior Will Harris (Bloomington, Minn.-Holy Angels) tied the program record with a career-high 22 saves during IWU's latest matchup versus Southwestern University, March 22.

The Green and White are led by junior Rick Smith (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln Way East) with 25 total points, collecting 17 goals, eight assists, and 12 ground balls. Sophomore Connor Kiichle (Vancouver, Wash.- Skyview), and juniors Charles Hildestad (Carlock, Ill.-St. Viator) and Griffin DeMilt (Toledo, Ohio.-Ottawa Hills) have registered a total of 15 points through four games.

On defense, senior LSM Jory Vance (Milwaukee, Wis.-Wauwatosa East) is tied for the team lead in caused turnovers at six this season. Vance is also ranked third in ground balls with 14, sitting behind Max Bousky (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) with 34 and Harris with 17. Sophomores Blake Muschewske (Exelsior, Minn.- Holy Family Catholic) and Ryan Payne (Mercer Island, Wash.-Mercer Island) join Vance with six caused turnovers as well.

The Titans and Spartans have seen each other a total of seven times since 2015, playing twice in the 2017 season. IWU opened its 2017 season against the Spartans with a 10-14 defeat but later avenged its loss by knocking AU out of the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship tournament, 19-15.

AU currently has the upper hand in a close 4-3 series record between the two teams. The Green and White have momentum on its side as its last two matchups resulted in Titan victories, 14-10 on March 27, 2019 and 23-9 March 26, 2020.

The game will be livestreamed here. Results of the game will be posted at iwusports.com following the completion of the game.
