Men’s Volleyball Felled by Augustana

Titans host No. 6 Carthage Wednesday, March 3

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team was swept at Augustana College Saturday night, Feb. 27 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play. The Titans (1-7, 0-3 CCIW) fell in straight sets, 25-14, 25-18, and 25-11.

Illinois Wesleyan finished the night with 15 kills on 67 attempts, while Augie hit .358 (28-9-53). The Titans tallied 16 digs to the Vikings' 29, and were out-blocked 7-1.

Freshman Alec Mucha (Geneva, Ill.-Geneva) hit .375 with four kills on eight swings, while freshman Bradley Benson (Lemont, Ill.-Lemont) added two kills and four assists. Ethan Scott (Wheaton, Ill.-Wheaton North) tied KJ Johnson (Saint John, Ind.-Marian Catholic) for a team-high with five digs.

The Titans continue CCIW action Wednesday night, March 3, when seventh-ranked Carthage College visits the Shirk Center. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
