Box Score
BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team racked up the goals in a 32-7 victory over DePauw University, Saturday Feb. 27. The Titans 32 goals are the second-most in program history just short of three when the Titans beat Carroll, 35-6 on April 28, 2018.

Senior Max Bousky (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) went 16-for-19 in faceoffs as junior Zac Taylor (Brighton, Mich.-Brighton) won 16-of-22. Bousky picked up the second-most ground balls with eight right behind Taylor with nine. Senior Will Harris (Bloomington, Minn.-Holy Angels) tallied seven saves in the win.

The Green and White were led by junior-transfer Griffin DeMilt (Toledo, Ohio.-Ottawa Hills) and junior Rick Smith (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln Way East) who put up five goals and two assists each totaling seven points.

DeMilt kicked it off for the Titans scoring the first goal in both the game and in his IWU debut. The Titans reached a 4-0 lead, before the Tigers found the back of the net. Freshman Gage Black (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap) made his debut with a goal in the first period followed by two more goals from DeMilt to put IWU up 8-2 after one quarter.

Five different Titans found the back of the net in the second, including Jaxon Hendrickson (British Columbia, Can.-Westtown) who broke the double-digit threshold for the Titans, 10-2. The period ended with a backdoor goal by Smith assisted by Hendrickson ending the half, 15-2.

The Tigers picked up an early goal to start off the third period 15-3, but were answered by two Titan goals, one from sophomore Carson Kiichle (Vancouver, Wash.-Skyview) and the other by junior Charles Hildestad (Carlock, Ill.-St. Viator) upping the Titans lead to 17-3. Back at the X, Taylor took his own faceoff win down through the Tigers defense and past the goaltender to make it 20-3.

Freshman goaltender Alex Oximana (Seattle, Wash.-Bishop Blanchet) made his Titan debut entering the game half way through the third period. Down a man with a minute and a half left, Smith pushed back with an assist from Malcolm Hedgepeth (Houston, Tx.-The Kinkaid School) furthering the lead by 20 goals, 25-5 ending the third period.

Another freshman made his debut between the posts as Ethan Hare (St. Louis, Mo.-Priory) came into the game to relieve Oximana.

The Titans did not hold back, entering the fourth period with two quick goals. Hedgepath opened the period by picking up the faceoff ground ball, beating the goalie and advancing the score to 26-5. Just 35 seconds later Black put up his fourth goal of the game pushing on the lead to 27-5.

Freshman Trystan Seeley (Castle Rock, Colo.-Castle View), sophomore Mason Barney (New Haven, Ind.-R. Nelson Snider), and senior Brett Grabarek (Bartlett, Ill.-Bartlett) capped the scoring with goals in the final three minutes to close out the 32-7 win.

The Titans return to Tucci Stadium for a mid-week game on Wednesday, March 3 to face off MSOE. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
