BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University softball team's season gets underway Thursday, Feb. 18, when the Titans take on Illinois College inside the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria, Ill. First pitch of the doubleheader inside the dome is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.

Due to state and local restrictions, as well as campus visitor policies, no spectators will be permitted at any indoor Illinois Wesleyan University sporting events at this time under the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin spectator policy. All CCIW members are fully focused on maintaining the health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and campus communities.

Illinois Wesleyan finished the shortened 2020 season with a 9-1 record and ranked No. 4 nationally. The Titans return eight letterwinners from last season's squad, including juniors Hayley Earl (Washington, Ill.-Washington) and Colleen Palczynski (Mt. Prospect, Ill.-Prospect) who earned First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors in 2019.

IWU and IC have squared off 10 times since 2012, with the Titans winning seven and the Lady Blue winning three. Illinois Wesleyan swept last year's season-opening doubleheader, with 4-0 and 11-2 victories. Meanwhile, each of the Titans three losses have come by one run each, as the Lady Blue came out on top 8-7, May, 2, 2017, 6-5, March 26, 2015, and 5-4, April 2, 2013.
