BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team will host College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe North Central College Wednesday, Oct. 13. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Neis Field. The Titans hold a 2-6-1 (1-1 CCIW) overall record as the Cardinals enter Neis Field with an undefeated 13-0-1 (3-0-1 CCIW) record.

IWU will return home after two away matches against Illinois College, Oct. 5, and Wheaton College, Oct. 9. The Titans picked up their first tie of the year after a scoreless draw with IC before outfighting the Thunder with a 3-2 overtime win.

Junior Dane Hoare (Chicago, Ill.-Von Steuben) captured his second career goal in a Green and White uniform during the game against Wheaton. The two teams were tied 2-2 and just four minutes into the first overtime, Hoare ended the game to take the Titans first CCIW win of the season. The junior has only scored two goals in his career both this season and both game-winning goals.

Between the posts for the Green and White, freshman Ethan Fineman (Highland Park, Ill.-Highland Park) picked up his first career start during the Titans 3-2 win over Wheaton. Fineman played the total 94 minutes for IWU, where he was credited with two saves. In addition, the Highland Park, Ill. native started the second half against IC and finished out the 20 minutes of extra time where he picked up one save.

The Titans welcome the Cardinals after NCC played in a midweek matchup against CCIW's Augustana College Wednesday, Oct. 6. The Vikings came up short as NCC came out victorious 5-2.

The two squads have a tighter all-time series of 14-16-5, as NCC holds a slight advantage. The last time the Titans saw the Cardinals was during the 2019 CCIW Tournament semifinals. IWU edged its way into the championship game after advancing on penalty kicks. Although NCC holds the advantage in the all-time series, from 2015 to present IWU has seen success, winning five out of the last six matches, with four won in overtime play.
