ORLANDO, Fla.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team was handed a 7-2 setback by Saint Mary's College in the opening match of its Spring Break Trip Monday, March 9, in Orlando, Fla.

Sophomores Alessia Girardin (Chicago, Ill.-Regina Dominican HS) and Ashley Mohr (Morton, Ill.-Morton HS) picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Girardin bested the Belles' Meredith Heckert 6-1, 6-2. Mohr took the first set 6-2, before dropping the second set 6-3 to Saint Mary's Lucy Chamberlin. The two battled back and forth in a tie breaker, resulting in a 10-6 victory by Mohr. 

The Titans are set to battle with College of St. Scholastica Tuesday, March 10 with an 11 a.m. ET first serve.
